About RYB

I was born in the mid 80s, the tail end of the 20th century. Born into a world of Megadrives and Playstations. Of Terminators and Jurassic Parks. Of mp3 and the internet. Born into a world of slavery - slavery to popculture, and its masters in Sony, Apple, Nintendo and company.

As the media all too often tells us, pop culture is bad for us. It turns us serial killers or - worse - into square-eyed, socially inept conversational black-holes. Everything from Elvis Presley’s hips to Lara Croft’s derriere has been accused of rotting our brains. Only fitting then, that a weblog which serves to comment on pop culture be called rotsyourbrain. That, and plopculture was already taken.

So, you’ll find a fair dose of posts on films, music, videogames, television and so on. A quick look around the site will indicate where my tastes lie, but suffice to say I don’t like my pop-culture too po-faced, nor too low brow.

You’ll also find posts on wider aspects of my life, so do forgive me for that. I write this weblog for the joy of writing, and also so that I will habitually do so. As such, not everything you find will be of interest. That being said, I hope that you will enjoy at least some of the content. If you do, why not subscribe to my RSS feed?
